Just steps away from Seattle’s Pike Place Market, The Emerald offers residents the chance to live in luxury in the city’s coveted downtown waterfront area. With unrivaled views of the Puget Sound, the building features exterior materials to reinforce the unique nature of the soaring faceted-glass tower. One area this is observed is in a channel glass form on the second and third floors. Supplied by Technical Glass Products (TGP), the Pilkington Profilit™ channel glass system spans the outside of the fitness center and community meeting spaces. Its self-supporting, U-shaped, linear cast-glass and extruded perimeter frame allow for large, glazed areas that can diffuse extensive amounts of natural light deep into interior spaces without loss of privacy. Providing a depth and profile not found in conventional wall applications, the channel glass system goes beyond daylight transfer to create a unique atmosphere for residential amenity uses. Its inherent slight green hue adds to the design, paying homage to the building’s natural surroundings.
